Takashi Murakami

So, when I was younger there was nothing that I hated more than going to museums, but about three years ago,  my parents dragged me to the Murakami special exhibit in Los Angeles. I fell in love with his work, and I would say he is my favorite artist to date. Also, when I was in Amsterdam a couple weeks back, I was lucky enough to check out a small exhibit and boutique of his that secured my passion for his work. The rest is history...

Attached is a picture of the exhibit in Amsterdam, along with a great new toy by an artist named Mike Leavitt, who encapsulated Murakami's head on one of his own creations.

Enjoy

Didn't bring my camera this time to Florence, being that I was only there for one day, BUT, just incase you didn't catch my photos from last time in Florence, here are a few to give you a taste.

So simple, but O so elegant

"I'd rather die enormous than live dormant" - Shawn Carter

I just started reading Jay-Z: Decoded. Amazing. I am going to start posting my favorite quotes of his while I am reading. Hope they resonate with you as well.

BEST COAST

Sitting in Milano, but really missing my hometown. Tribute to everyone missing LA right now.

Parra: Short for Paranoid

Has anyone heard of this guy? I'd never heard of him, but after I got back to Italy from Amsterdam two weeks ago, I wanted to do some research on artists that embody the spirit and authenticity of Amsterdam... I found Parra. Parra, short for Paranoid, is an amazing artist straight outta Amsterdam and I told myself that when I started my blog I would definitely give a shout out to Parra. Here is the link to a video showing his process...

Culti: How Interior Design Should Be

Today in Milan I got the unique opportunity to visit the beautiful factory and offices of CULTI, an interior design firm that not only manufactures all of their own goods, but also designs residences, hotels, spas, and just about anything they are asked to do. If you are interested in the amazing work of CULTI Milan, look at the website that is linked to this post. The photos I took were on the way to the factory just outside of Milan. Unfortunately I could not take photos inside, but check out the link because it is definitely worth investing time and money into and i cosign CULTI to the fullest. Be cool.
